UTILITY

Those of you that follow me on Instagram will know that I’ve just sold a big chunk of my outerwear collection, in part because I needed to streamline my wardrobe but also because there are new styles of coats I’ve had my eye on, which I needed to make room for. Top of my hit list has been a utility style trench/mac and in recent weeks there have been a few on the high-street that have grabbed my attention.

The funnel neck, d-ring sleeve detail and parachute toggle hem of this Marks & Spencer coat all create that utility feel. It has a removable padded lining which adds warmth on colder days and transforms it into a lighter weight coat for spring/summer. The d-ring detail on the arm means you can create a three-quarter length sleeve too, another feature perfect for sunnier days, making it two coats for the price of one – utility chic at it’s best.
