CRUSHING ON: PATENT LEATHER

Nothing haunts us more than the things we didn’t buy and nearly 12 months on, I still regret not buying a pair of patent leather trousers from French Connection last winter.  Patent leather is big for autumn/winter16 and with it continuing to appear on the catwalks for spring/summer17, they would have been a good investment…if I’d bought them (oh why didn’t I buy them?!).

Patent leather is definitely a statement fabric, but I honestly think it’s very wearable if styled the right way. When I finally get my hands on some trousers, I’ll be wearing them with knitwear and trainers during the day and with a blazer, simple tee and ankle boots for evening. I think the key is to keep the rest of your outfit simple – don’t try too hard (all black always looks chic).
